Alessio Scandale is an Italian dance artist and choreographer.
He graduated in 2016 from the Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance (SEAD) in Austria. Since then, his artistic journey has been guided by a profound curiosity for movement research and the dynamics of human connection. This exploration led him to co-create BetweenUs partnering practice with Laura Beschi, a project that merges performance and pedagogy through a shared physical language. Together, they continue to lead workshops across Europe, sharing an ever-evolving practice that places dialogue and presence at its core. In 2025, they premiered Room with View, a work that expands their collaboration and choreographic research.
Over the years, he has collaborated with a wide range of artists and companies, including Ariella Vidach AiEP (Italy), Daniele Ninarello (Italy), Zsuzsa Rozsavolgyi (Hungary), cie. Willi Dorner (Austria), Alix Eynaudi (Austria), The Loose Collective (Austria), and Tanz Company Gervasi (Austria).
From 2018 to 2023, he was a member of cie. toula limnaios in Berlin, contributing to the creation and revival of numerous works that toured internationally across Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas.
In 2024, he began a new collaboration with Sasha Waltz & Guests, performing in Travelogue I – Twenty to Eight, Beethoven 7, and In C.
